UPPER MARLBORO FELON SENTENCED TO OVER 11 YEARS PRISON
FOR DRUG AND GUN CRIMES
Greenbelt, Maryland - U.S. District Judge Alexander Williams, Jr. sentenced Devon Edward Montgomery, age 36, of Upper Marlboro, Maryland, today to 135 months in prison followed by five years of supervised release for possession with intent to distribute cocaine and being a felon in possession of a gun. Judge Williams also entered an order that Montgomery forfeit $21,424, the amount of cash found during the search of Montgomery’s house.
The sentence was announced by United States Attorney for the District of Maryland Rod J. Rosenstein and Special Agent in Charge Theresa R. Stoop of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives - Baltimore Field Division.
According to Montgomery’s guilty plea, law enforcement agents executed a search warrant at Montgomery’s home and seized three handguns and a loaded revolver, over 29 ounces of cocaine base, marijuana found in plastic bags, cash, glass vials and plastic caps, four digital scales, 13 vials of PCP and boxes of ammunition. Montgomery had been previously convicted of two felony crimes for burglary and distributing cocaine and thus was prohibited from possessing the firearms.
United States Attorney Rod J. Rosenstein commended ATF for its work in the investigation. Mr. Rosenstein thanked Assistant United States Attorney Jonathan C. Su, who prosecuted the case.
