Support Staff

The U.S. Attorney’s Office employs a large number of support staff members in a variety of positions. Support staff positions include: Legal Assistant, Lead Legal Assistant, Paralegal Specialist, Administrative Support Specialist and other administrative and legal support positions ranging in grades from GS-5 up to and including GS-15. The General Schedule (GS) salary scale for the Washington, DC/Baltimore Metropolitan area may be obtained by contacting the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) web site at: http://www.usajobs.gov/

Support staff positions are normally career or career conditional appointments in the competitive service.

Separate vacancy announcements are prepared and provide the opening and closing dates, the areas of consideration and qualification requirements, and are distributed as support staff vacancies occur.

The Human Resources Office also maintains an Applicant Supply File for applications received outside of a specific job announcement.
