Old Orchard Beach Man Sentenced For Child Pornography Possession

Portland, Maine: United States Attorney Thomas E. Delahanty II announced today Ludger R.
Binette, age 65, of Old Orchard Beach, Maine was sentenced in U.S. District Court, in Portland, by Judge
George Z. Singal, to 1 year and 1 day in prison to be followed by 10 years of supervised release for
possession of child pornography. The defendant pled guilty to the charge on April 2, 2012.

According to Court records, in 2009, federal and state law enforcement agents executed a
search warrant at the defendant’s residence in Old Orchard Beach and seized from his bedroom a
computer that had images of child pornography on it. At the conclusion of the sentencing, the
defendant was remanded into the custody of the United States Marshal’s Service.

The investigation was conducted by the United States Secret Service and the Maine State Police
