
New Sharon Man Pleads Guilty to Possession of Stolen Firearms

Bangor, Maine: United States Attorney Thomas E. Delahanty II announced that Roger Briscoe,
33, of New Sharon, Maine, pled guilty in United States District Court in Bangor to possessing 19 stolen
firearms in violation of federal law.
According to court records, on January 26, 2012, Briscoe broke into a Jay, Maine residence and
stole 19 firearms, taking them to his home several miles away. The stolen firearms included six semi-
automatic rifles, five semi-automatic pistols and numerous shotguns. Most of the firearms were
recovered during the execution of a search warrant at Briscoe’s residence.
Briscoe faces a maximum of 10 years imprisonment and a $250,000 fine. He will be sentenced
after completion of a pre-sentence report by the United States Probation Office.
The investigation was conducted by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives
and the Jay Police Department.
