Portland, Maine: On Thursday, July 11, 2013, at 1:30 p.m., the United States Attorney’s Office (100 Middle
Street, 6th Floor, East Tower, Portland, ME 04101) will host a deputation ceremony for 18 state,
county and local law enforcement officers to be sworn in as special federal agents to assist with
investigations of pharmacy robberies and prescription drug abuse. You are invited to
attend. VTC will be available to our Bangor office location. Please call 945-0373 if you wish to
view the ceremony and remarks from Bangor.
The officers who will be sworn in are from all regions of the state and represent the Maine State
Police, Kennebec and Lincoln County Sheriff’s Departments and the Augusta, Bath, Biddeford,
Houlton, Kennebunk, Rockland, Saco, Sanford, South Berwick and York Police Departments.
The purpose of their deputation as federal agents will be to expand the availability of resources
to respond to this drug crisis.
