
Community Outreach initiatives in the western district of michigan
Community Outreach is a fundamental part of the Department of Justice’s approach to fighting crime and protecting and defending the rights and interests of the citizens of the Western District of Michigan. Community Outreach in this district takes many different forms, including Department of Justice initiatives, state wide and district wide initiatives, law enforcement training, listening tours, community meetings and educational presentations.
Some of the Task Forces, events, initiatives and meetings we are involved in on a regular basis include:
Michigan Alliance Against Hate Crime
Domestic Violence Community Coordinated Response Team (DVCCRT)
Educational Outreach to schools in the area of Bullying, Sexual Exploitation, Social Media, and Internet Safety
