December 19, 2008 TWO ILLEGAL ALIENS SENTENCED FOR FRAUDULENTLY TRYING TO OBTAIN DRIVER’S LICENSES St. Louis, MO: Two undocumented residents have been sentenced for attempting to use fraudulent identification to obtain driver’s licenses from the Department of Revenue License Office in Cuba, Missouri, United States Attorney Catherine L. Hanaway announced today. Beatriz Gutierrez-Vazquez and Jose Eliseo-Ohajaca Alvarado were each sentenced to six months in prison on one count of conspiracy to represent themselves as being citizens of the United States. They appeared for sentencing before United States District Judge Rodney W. Sippel in St. Louis. At the conclusion of their prison sentence, both defendants will be deported. Hanaway commended the work performed on the case by the Immigration and Customs Enforcement, the Salem and Cuba Police Departments and Assistant United States Attorney Fred Dana, who handled the case for the U.S. Attorney’s Office. |
