MEXICO, MISSOURI MAN PLEADS GUILTY TO FEDERAL CHARGES OF BEING A FELON IN POSSESSION OF A FIREARM

St. Louis, Missouri:  A Mexico, Missouri man plead guilty to charges of being a felon in possession of a firearm, United States Attorney Catherine Hanaway announced today.

KYNAN FOX, of Mexico, Missouri, plead guilty to one count of being a felon in possession of a firearm today in federal court in St. Louis before Senior United States Judge Donald J. Stohr.

Fox admitted to illegally possessing a Remington rifle in Mexico on March 16, 2007.  Judge Stohr accepted Fox’s guilty plea and set sentencing for February 13, 2009.  Fox faces up to 10 years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000.  Fox has been in custody throughout the federal proceedings.

U.S. Attorney Catherine Hanaway praised the work of the Mexico Public Safety Department, Audrain County Prosecutor Jason Lamb and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) who investigated the case.
