November 21, 2008 JEFFERSON COUNTY MAN CONVICTED OF METHAMPHETAMINE CHARGES St. Louis, MO: Donald Turner was convicted on federal methamphetamine charges, United States Attorney Catherine L. Hanaway and Jefferson County Sheriff Glenn Boyer announced today. According to testimony presented at trial, Turner and co-defendant Larry Sanders manufactured over 500 grams of methamphetamine in September 2007 in Jefferson County. DONALD TURNER, Richwoods, Missouri, was convicted of conspiracy to manufacture 500 grams or more of methamphetamine, manufacturing 500 grams or more of methamphetamine and one felony count of misprison of a felony. The two-day trial was held before United States District Judge E. Richard Webber. Turner now faces a maximum penalty of life in prison when he is sentenced on February 5, 2009. Co-defendant Larry Sanders previously pled guilty to related charges and was sentenced to 57 months in prison on September 22, 2008. In addition to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department, Hanaway commended the work performed on the case by the Mineral Area Drug Task Force and Assistant United States Attorney Jeannette Graviss, who prosecuted the case for the U.S. Attorney’s Office. |
