January 7, 2009 TEXAS MAN SENTENCED FOR MAIL THEFT St. Louis, MO: Steven Ryerson Dunlap was sentenced to 18 months in prison for mail theft, United States Attorney Catherine L. Hanaway announced today. STEVEN RYERSON DUNLAP, Kimberly, Texas, previously pled guilty to theft of mail in association with a multi-state crime spree which ended with his apprehension by the Creve Coeur, Missouri, police on December 18, 2007. Dunlap admitted to stealing checks from the mail in Texas, Oklahoma and Missouri in the days leading up to his arrest and was ordered by Judge Webber to repay over $13,000 to three banks. Hanaway commended the work of the Creve Coeur, Missouri Police Department and the St. Louis Office of the U.S. Postal Inspection Service, who investigated the case. Assistant United States Attorney Tom Albus handled the case for the U.S. Attorney’s Office. |
