January 14, 2009 TEXAS MAN PLEADS GUILTY TO FEDERAL CHARGES INVOLVING A FRANKLIN COUNTY MARIJUANA CONSPIRACY St. Louis, MO: Walter Daniel Foreman pled guilty to federal charges involving the conspiracy to distribute marijuana, United States Attorney Catherine L. Hanaway and Franklin County Sheriff Gary Toelke announced today. WALTER DANIEL FOREMAN, Galveston, Texas, pled guilty to one felony count of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute marijuana and one felony count of possession with intent to distribute marijuana. He appeared before United States District Judge Rodney W. Sippel. Sentencing has been set for April 12, 2009. The following co-defendants were indicted on related charges and are facing trial, presently scheduled for early February:
Co-defendant Brian Waltman, Eureka, Missouri, pled guilty January 7, and now faces a penalty range of 5 to 40 years in prison and/or fines up to $2,000,000, when he is sentenced on March 20, 2009. Hanaway commended the work performed on the case by the Franklin County Narcotics Task Force, the Drug Enforcement Administration and Assistant United States Attorney Noelle Collins, who is handling the case for the U.S. Attorney’s Office. The charges set forth in an indictment are merely accusations, and each defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty. |
