ST. FRANCOIS COUNTY MAN INDICTED ON FEDERAL DRUG & WEAPONS CHARGES

St. Louis, MO: Terry N. Moore was indicted on federal drug and weapons charges, United States Attorney Catherine L. Hanaway and St. Francois County Prosecuting Attorney Wendy Horn announced today.

TERRY N. MOORE, Boone, Missouri, was indicted by a federal grand jury in December on one felony count of manufacturing marijuana and one felony count of possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime.  He was arrested late Monday and is expected to appear in federal court Friday, January 9.

The indictment alleges that on October 12, 2007, Moore grew marijuana and was in possession of a firearm in relation to the growing operation.

If convicted, manufacturing marijuana carries a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison and/or fines up $1,000,000; possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime carries a penalty of not less than five years prison consecutive to the above sentence.

Hanaway commended the work performed on the case by the Mineral Area Drug Task Force, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and Assistant United States Attorney Noelle Collins, who is handling the case for the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

The charges set forth in an indictment are merely accusations, and each defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
