FRANKLIN COUNTY MAN PLEADS GUILTY TO MARIJUANA CONSPIRACY CHARGES

St. Louis, MO: Brian Waltman pled guilty to federal charges involving the conspiracy to distribute marijuana, United States Attorney Catherine L. Hanaway and Franklin County Sheriff Gary Toelke announced today.

BRIAN WALTMAN, Eureka, Missouri, pled guilty to one felony count of conspiracy to possession with intent to distribute marijuana and one felony count of possession with intent to distribute marijuana.  He appeared before United States District Judge Rodney W. Sippel.

The following co-defendants were indicted on related charges and are facing trial presently scheduled for early February:

  • Daniel Bryan Webster, Stanton, Missouri
  • Dennis Vaughn, Riverview, Missouri
  • James P. Clark, Galveston, Texas
  • Walter Daniel Forman, Galveston, Texas

Waltman now faces a penalty range of 5 to 40 years in prison and/or fines up to $2,000,000 when he is sentenced on March 20, 2009.

Hanaway commended the work performed on the case by the Franklin County Narcotics Task Force, the Drug Enforcement Administration and Assistant United States Attorney Noelle Collins, who is handling the case for the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

The charges set forth in an indictment are merely accusations, and each defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
