March 20, 2009 ILLEGAL ALIEN ARRESTED IN STE. GENEVIEVE COUNTY ON IMMIGRATION CHARGES St. Louis, MO: Cesar Anaya-Luna was arrested in Ste. Genevieve County on immigration charges, United States Attorney Catherine L. Hanaway announced today. CESAR ANAYA-LUNA, an illegal alien from Mexico, was indicted for re-entering the United States after being previously deported. If convicted, Luna faces a maximum penalty of ten years in prison. He was arrested by the Missouri State Highway Patrol for a traffic violation near Ste. Genevieve, Missouri, on March 6, 2009. Hanaway commended the work performed on the case by the Missouri Highway Patrol, the Bureau of Immigration and Customs Enforcement and Assistant United States Attorney Fred Dana, who is handling the case for the U.S. Attorney’s Office. The charges set forth in an indictment are merely accusations, and each defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty. |
