ILLEGAL ALIEN ARRESTED IN PHELPS COUNTY PLEADS GUILTY TO FEDERAL IMMIGRATION CHARGES

St. Louis, MO: Julio Jimenez-Quinones had previously been arrested in Phelps County on state drug charges and today pled guilty to the federal charges, United States Attorney Catherine L. Hanaway announced today.

JULIO JIMENEZ-QUINONES, an illegal alien from Mexico, pled guilty to re-entry of a previously deported aggravated felon.  He was arrested by Immigration agents on December 17, 2008, in Rolla, Missouri.  He appeared before United States District Judge Donald J. Stohr today in St. Louis.

Jimenez-Quinones faces a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison when he is sentenced on May 29, 2009.

Hanaway commended the work performed on the case by the Bureau of Immigration and Customs Enforcement and Assistant United States Attorney Fred Dana, who is handling the case for the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
