FOUR JEFFERSON COUNTY PEOPLE FACE FEDERAL METHAMPHETAMINE RELATED CHARGES

St. Louis, MO: Four Jefferson County people have been indicted on federal methamphetamine charges, United States Attorney Catherine L. Hanaway announced today.

Indicted in separate un-related cases:

SHANE A. MEYER, Cedar Hill, Missouri; and TRACY LALUMANDIER, Cedar Hill, Missouri, were each indicted January 29 by a federal grand jury on one felony count of possession of pseudoephedrine for the manufacture of methamphetamine.  The indictments were sealed until the arrest of both defendants last week.  Both defendants appeared in federal court Tuesday, March 10.

APRIL LYNN DITTY, High Ridge, Missouri; and SHANNON SIMS, High Ridge, Missouri, were each indicted February 26, on one felony count of possession of pseudoephedrine for the manufacture of methamphetamine.  The indictment remained sealed until their arrests late last week.  They appeared in federal court Wednesday morning.

If convicted, possession of pseudoephedrine for the manufacture of methamphetamine carries a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison and/or fines up to $250,000; manufacturing in excess of 50 grams of a mixture containing methamphetamine carries a penalty range of 5 to 40 years in prison and/or fines up to $2,000,000.

Hanaway commended the work performed on the case by the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department, the Jefferson Municipal Enforcement Group and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

The charges set forth in an indictment are merely accusations, and each defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
