March 4, 2009 ILLEGAL ALIEN PLEADS GUILTY TO IMMIGRATION CHARGES St. Louis, MO: A Mexican citizen who was arrested in Phelps County last December has pled guilty to immigration charges, United States Attorney Catherine L. Hanaway announced today. ISRAEL GUADALUPE VALDEZ-PARRA, an illegal alien from Mexico, pled guilty to illegally re-entering the United States after previously being deported. This charge carries a maximum penalty of ten years in prison. He appeared before United States District Judge Jean C. Hamilton, March 2, in St. Louis. Sentencing has been set for April 3, 2009. Hanaway commended the work performed on the case by the Phelps County Sheriff’s Department and Department of Homeland Security, Immigration and Customs Enforcement. |
