 JEFFERSON COUNTY MAN PLEADS GUILTY TO FEDERAL METHAMPHETAMINE CHARGES

St. Louis, MO: Phillip G. Blankenship pled guilty to federal methamphetamine charges, Acting United States Attorney Michael W. Reap announced today.

PHILLIP G. BLANKENSHIP, High Ridge, Missouri, pled guilty to one felony count of conspiracy to manufacture more than fifty grams of methamphetamine on March 28, 2008, in St. Louis County.  He appeared before United States District Judge Henry Autrey. Sentencing has been set for August 11, 2009.

Possession of 50 grams or more of a mixture or substance containing methamphetamine with the intent to distribute carries a maximum penalty of five years to forty years in prison and/or fines up to $2,000,000.

Reap commended the work performed on the cases by the Jefferson Municipal Enforcement Group, the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office and Assistant United States Attorney Jennifer Winfield, who is handling the case for the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
