May 21, 2009 ROLLA, MO WOMAN SENTENCED ON FEDERAL METHAMPHETAMINE DISTRIBUTION CHARGES St. Louis, MO: Shay Enice Smith was sentenced to 60 months in prison on federal methamphetamine distribution charges, Acting United States Attorney Michael W. Reap announced today. According to court documents, between July 2007 and January 2008, Smith possessed more than 50 grams of methamphetamine for distribution purposes. SHAY ENICE SMITH, Rolla, Missouri, pled guilty last March to one felony count of possession with intent to distribute 50 grams or more of methamphetamine, and appeared today for sentencing before United States District Judge Rodney W. Sippel in St. Louis. Reap commended the a joint effort of the Missouri South Central Drug Task Force, United States Forest Service, Rolla Police Department, Phelps County Sheriff's Office and Assistant United States Attorney Jeffrey Jensen, who handled the case for the U.S. Attorney’s Office. The Missouri South Central Drug Task Force works in partnership with the Highway Patrol and numerous federal and local agencies to keep illicit drugs, including methamphetamine and clandestine methamphetamine labs, out of our communities and National Forest throughout South Central Missouri.
