BLUE SPRINGS MAN SENTENCED FOR CHILD PORN
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Bradley J. Schlozman, United States Attorney for the Western District of Missouri, announced that a Blue Springs, Mo., man was sentenced in federal court today for receiving child pornography over the Internet.
David Neil Brown, 45, of Blue Springs, was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Fernando J. Gaitan this morning to five years in federal prison without parole, to be served consecutively to Brown’s state sentence for child molestation charges. Brown pleaded guilty in 2003 to two counts of statutory sodomy in the first degree and three counts of statutory sodomy in the second degree in Jackson County, Mo., for which he is currently serving a state sentence of 15 years’ imprisonment.
On Dec. 28, 2005, Brown pleaded guilty to downloading child pornography over the Internet from a computer in his home on March 5, 2002. Images of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct found on Brown’s computer included children under the age of 12. Some of the images also depicted children subjected to sadistic or otherwise violent sexual abuse.
This case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Katharine Fincham. It was investigated by the Blue Springs, Mo., Police Department.
