RICHMOND MAN SENTENCED FOR CHILD PORNOGRAPHY
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – John F. Wood, United States Attorney for the Western District of Missouri, announced that a Richmond, Mo., man was sentenced in federal court today for distributing child pornography over the Internet.
Michael A. Bryan, 48, of Richmond, was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Gary A. Fenner this afternoon to nine years in federal prison without parole.
On Dec. 19, 2006, Bryan pleaded guilty to distributing child pornography over the Internet. Bryan admitted that he used his home computer to send child pornography to another person whom he met in an Internet chat room. Bryan’s computer contained child pornography images of children under the age of 12 and images portraying violent or sadistic sexual behavior with children.
This case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Katharine Fincham. The case, made possible with the cooperation of Ray County Prosecuting Attorney James C. Thompson, was investigated by the Kansas City, Mo., Police Department and the Richmond, Mo., Police Department.
