MICHIGAN MAN SENTENCED FOR 5 KILOS OF COCAINE
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Bradley J. Schlozman, United States Attorney for the Western District of Missouri, announced that an Owosso, Mich., man was sentenced in federal court today for possession with intent to distribute five kilograms or more of cocaine.
Jack L. DeLong, 36, of Owosso, was sentenced by U.S. District Chief Judge Fernando J. Gaitan this morning to 10 years in federal prison without parole.
On Jan. 4, 2007, DeLong pleaded guilty to possession with intent to distribute five kilograms or more of cocaine. DeLong was arrested on July 17, 2006, while he was a passenger aboard an Amtrak Train, where he had brought a suitcase containing the cocaine.
This case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Kathleen D. Mahoney. It was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Kansas City, Mo., Police Department.
