WRIGHT COUNTY MAN SENTENCED
ON FEDERAL NARCOTICS AND GUN CHARGES
SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – John F. Wood, United States Attorney for the Western District of Missouri, announced that a Wright County, Mo., man has been sentenced in federal district court today for distributing methamphetamine and illegally possessing a firearm.
David Lynn Gleason, 47, of Wright County, was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Gary A. Fenner this morning to four years and nine months imprisonment without parole for distributing methamphetamine and illegally possessing a firearm. On Mar.19, 2007, Gleason pleaded guilty to selling methamphetamine to another individual on Feb. 24, 2005, in Wright County, Missouri. On this same date, Gleason also pleaded guilty to possessing a firearm in August of 2004 after having been convicted of four prior felony offenses involving the illegal sale and possession of drugs and firearms.
This case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Richard E. Monroe. It was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the South Central Drug Task Force, the Wright County Sheriff’s Department, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
