NIXA MAN PLEADS GUILTY TO FAILURE
TO FILE FEDERAL TAX RETURNS
SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – John F. Wood, United States Attorney for the Western District of Missouri, announced that a Nixa, Mo., man pleaded guilty in federal court today to his failure to file federal tax returns for three years.
Terry Edward Elliott, 54, of Nixa, pleaded guilty before U.S. Magistrate Judge James C. England this morning to three counts of willfully failing to file federal tax returns. Elliott owned T.E. Mortgage Group and TE Mortgage Services in Nixa.
By pleading guilty today, Elliott admitted that in the calendar years 2002 to 2004, he earned a total of $887,451 in gross income. In each of those three years, Elliott willfully failed to make an income tax return.
This case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Steven M. Mohlhenrich. It was investigated by IRS-Criminal Investigation.
