LEE’S SUMMIT MAN SENTENCED
FOR CHILD PORNOGRAPHY
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – John F. Wood, United States Attorney for the Western District of Missouri, announced that a Lee’s Summit, Mo., man was sentenced in federal court today for possessing child pornography.
Jeremy Stan, 33, of Lee’s Summit, was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Dean Whipple this afternoon to six years in federal prison without parole.
On Jan. 4, 2008, Stan pleaded guilty to possessing child pornography. Stan admitted that he used MyKazaa, a file-sharing program, to download images from the Internet onto his personal computer. Stan admitted that he obtained videos of children engaging in sexual acts that included children as young as 6 years old.
Stan’s computer contained 32 child pornography movies. The video clips were analyzed by law enforcement specialists in Germany and Britain. Some of the children are part of a known victim series. The video of the German victim contains bondage. Some of the other victims are clearly under the age of 12.
This case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Katharine Fincham. It was investigated by the Lee’s Summit, Mo., Police Department and the Overland Park, Kan., Police Department.
