JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – Beth Phillips, United States Attorney for the Western District of Missouri, announced today that a Versailles, Mo., man has been sentenced in federal court for illegally possessing firearms.

Robert Lee Eldridge, 27, of Versailles, was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Nanette K. Laughrey on Wednesday, Feb. 10, 2010, to eight years in federal prison without parole.

On Feb. 5, 2009, Eldridge pleaded guilty to being a felon in possession of firearms. Eldridge admitted that he was in possession of 18 rifles, shotguns and handguns. Law enforcement officers discovered the firearms in Eldridge’s residence after responding to a call about a disturbance on April 2, 2008.
