
Martinez Pleads Guilty to Possession
of Firearm and Ammunition
OXFORD, Miss. – Felicia C. Adams, United States Attorney for the Northern District of Mississippi, and Raymond R. Parmer, Jr., Special Agent in Charge, Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) in New Orleans, announced that:
Isaias Martinez, 37, a Mexican citizen, illegally residing in Memphis, plead guilty Friday before United States Chief District Judge Michael P. Mills, in Oxford, to charges of possessing a firearm and ammunition by an illegal alien.
Martinez was remanded to the custody of the U.S. Marshal pending sentencing, which will take place following the completion of a presentence report. At sentencing, he faces a maximum possible penalty of ten years imprisonment, a $250,000 fine, and three years supervised release.
This case was investigated by special agents with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) and the Desoto County Sheriff’s Department and is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Scott Leary.
