
Illegal Alien pleads guilty
to possession of firearm
OXFORD, Miss. – Felicia C. Adams, United States Attorney for the Northern District of Mississippi, and Raymond R. Parmer, Jr., Special Agent in Charge, Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) in New Orleans, announced that:
Israel Receneiz Segura, a Mexican citizen, illegally residing in Clay County, plead guilty Thursday before United States District Judge Sharion Aycock, in Aberdeen, to charges of possession of a firearm by an illegal alien.
Segura was remanded to the custody of the U.S. Marshal Service pending sentencing, which will take place following the completion of a presentence report. At sentencing, he faces a maximum possible penalty of ten years imprisonment, a $250,000 fine, and three years supervised release.
This case was investigated by special agents with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) and the Mississippi Department of Public Safety, Highway Patrol.
