
GANG MEMBER SENTENCED TO 10 YEARS
ON FEDERAL GUN CHARGES
Gulfport, Miss - Benjamin Joseph Casper III, 28, of Gulfport, was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Sul Ozerden to the maximum penalty of 10 years in prison followed by three years of supervised release for being a felon in possession of a firearm, U. S. Attorney Gregory K. Davis announced today. Casper was also ordered to forfeit the firearm.
Casper had previously been convicted twice for possession with intent to distribute controlled substances in Harrison County Circuit Court. He has been documented as a member of the Simon City Royals criminal street gang by the Mississippi Department of Corrections.
This case was investigated by the Gulfport Police Department and the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco Firearms and Explosives. It was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Annette Williams.
