Reno Shambo and Carol Ramona Stiffarm-shambo Found Guilty in U.S. Federal Cour

Bill Mercer, United States Attorney for the District of Montana, announced today that on June 11, 2009, in Great Falls, after a 2-day federal district court trial before U.S. District Judge Sam E. Haddon, RENO SHAMBO, age 45, and CAROL RAMONA STIFFARM-SHAMBO, age 41, residents of Hays, were found guilty of attempted simple possession of methamphetamine. Sentencing is set for September 21, 2009. They are currently detained.

They each face possible penalties of 1 year in prison, a $100,000 fine and 1 year supervised release.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Rebekah J. French prosecuted the case for the United States.

The investigation was a cooperative effort between the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Tri-Agency Drug Task Force and the Drug Enforcement Administration.
