Melissa Lee Gervais Gobert Pleads Guilty in U.S. Federal Cour

The United States Attorney's Office announced that during a federal court session in Great Falls, on January 26, 2011, before U.S. District Judge Sam E. Haddon, MELISSA LEE GERVAIS GOBERT, a 29-year-old resident of Browning, pled guilty to possession with the intent to distribute methamphetamine. Sentencing has been set for May 2, 2011. She is currently detained.

In an Offer of Proof filed by Assistant U.S. Attorney Michael T. Wolfe, the government stated it would have proved at trial the following:

On April 6, 2010, Blackfeet Safe Trails Task Force agents conducted a controlled purchase of methamphetamine from GOBERT. With the assistance of a confidential informant, the agents documented GOBERT possessing and delivering approximately 4.86 grams of methamphetamine to another person.

GOBERT faces possible penalties of 20 ears in prison, a $1,000,000 fine and 3 years supervised release.

The investigation was conducted by the Blackfeet Safe Trails Task Force, Federal Bureau of Investigation, and the Montana Division of Criminal Investigation.
