Informational: Federal Court Initial Appearances

The United States Attorney's Office announced that during a federal court session in Billings, on March 28, 2011, before U.S. Magistrate Judge Carolyn S. Ostby, the following individuals appeared:

HARLEY CLIFFORD COMBRES, a 28-year-old resident of Lethbridge, Alberta, made an initial appearance on a complaint alleging being an illegal alien in possession of firearms. He is currently detained. If charged with this offense, COMBRES faces possible penalties of 10 years in prison, a $250,000 fine and 3 years supervised release. Assistant U.S. Attorney Paulette L. Stewart is the prosecutor for the United States. The investigation was a cooperative effort between U.S. Department of Homeland Security - Homeland Security Investigations, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

CALEY DAWN SINCLAIR, a 23-year-old resident of Lethbridge, Alberta, made an initial appearance on a complaint alleging aiding and abetting an illegal alien in possession of firearms. She is currently detained. If charged with this offense, SINCLAIR faces possible penalties of 10 years in prison, a $250,000 fine and 3 years supervised release. Assistant U.S. Attorney Paulette L. Stewart is the prosecutor for the United States. The investigation was a cooperative effort between U.S. Department of Homeland Security - Homeland Security Investigations, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
