RALEIGH - United States Attorney Frank D. Whitney announced that on January 18, 2006, a federal grand jury returned a true bill of indictment against LARRY DOUGLAS STACY, 57, of 924 Norris Road, Clayton, N. C. STACY has been charged in a five count indictment with the transportation, receipt, and possession of child pornography, transportation of obscene materials over the Internet, and transportation of obscene materials over the Internet for distribution.
Investigation of the case was conducted by Immigration and Customs Enforcement, a division of the Department of Homeland Security, the United States Postal Inspection Service, the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation and the Clayton Police Department. AUSA Joe Exum, Jr. is prosecuting the case for the United States.
An Indictment is only a charge and is not evidence of guilty. The defendant is entitled to a fair trial in which it will be the Government’s burden to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt. A trial date has not yet been set.
