LEXINGTON MAN SENTENCED ON DRUG AND FIREARM CHARGES

Brian Brown Receives 230 Month Sentence

GREENSBORO, NC - A Lexington man has been sentenced to 230 months in federal prison on narcotics and firearm charges.

Anna Mills Wagoner, United States Attorney for the Middle District of North Carolina, announced the sentencing. BRIAN O’KEITH BROWN, age 26, of Lexington, North Carolina, was sentenced on June 14, 2007, in Greensboro, before United States District Judge N. Carlton Tilley, Jr. In January 2007, a federal grand jury indicted BROWN on four charges. On March 5, 2007, BROWN pleaded guilty to one count of distributing crack cocaine (87.6 grams), and one count of possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime. Judge Tilley sentenced BROWN to 230 months imprisonment, five years supervised release, and a $200 special assessment.

BROWN was a previously convicted felon who was on probation at the time he was found in possession of a firearm, ammunition, and drugs.

The case against BROWN was investigated by the Lexington Police Department and the United States Drug Enforcement Administration.
