ARREST IN DRUG TRAFFICKING CASE

Randolph County Men Arrested for Drug Offenses

Greensboro, NC - Four men have been arrested for drug violations in Randolph County, announced Anna Mills Wagoner, United States Attorney for the Middle District of North Carolina.

On December 18, 2007, Rene Castillo-Ruiz, age 34, Hernando Gonzalez-Perez, age 50, Demetrio Pacheco-Reyes, aka Simitino Pacheco-Reyes, age 34 and Maximino Pacheco-Reyes, age 38, were charged in a criminal complaint with conspiracy to knowingly or intentionally manufacture, distribute, dispense, or possess more than 1000 kilograms of marijuana. The charges stem from a December 9, 2007, search in Asheboro. The search of the warehouse led to the seizure of over 3500 pounds of marijuana.

The investigation and charges are a result of a joint operation of the Archdale Police Department, Asheboro Police Department, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Randolph County Sheriff’s Office and the Sate Bureau of Investigation.

The public is cautioned that an criminal complaint is a formal method of issuing charges. It does not, in and of itself, create an inference of guilt. An individual is presumed innocent until such time, if ever, as the government establishes his or her guilt by competent evidence beyond a reasonable doubt.
