
Cannonball Woman Pleads Guilty to Voluntary Manslaughter
BISMARCK - U.S. Attorney Timothy Q. Purdon announced that on
April 24, 2012, Ivanna Red Bow, 27, of Cannonball, N.D., pleaded guilty in U.S. District
Court to a charge of voluntary manslaughter.
On December 30, 2010, Red Bow assaulted Loren Uses Arrow with a knife, during
a verbal and physical argument. Red Bow inflicted a stab wound to Uses Arrow’s upper
left chest area, causing Uses Arrow’s death.
The charge of voluntary manslaughter carries a statutory maximum penalty of 15
years in federal prison and a $250,000 fine.
The case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and Bureau of
Indian Affairs - Standing Rock Agency.
Sentencing for Red Bow has been scheduled for July 30, 2012, in U.S. District
Court in Bismarck, N.D., at 9:30 a.m.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Gary Delorme is prosecuting the case.
