
Belcourt Man Pleads Guilty to Assault
BISMARCK - U.S. Attorney Timothy Q. Purdon announced that on
May 21, 2012, Kenneth N. Allery Jr., 29, of Belcourt, N.D., pleaded guilty in
U.S. District Court to a charge of assault resulting in serious bodily injury.
On May 30, 2011, Allery stabbed the victim in the chest with a knife. The victim
sought medical attention and underwent surgery for his injury.
The charge of assault resulting in serious bodily injury carries a statutory
maximum penalty of 10 years in federal prison and a $250,000 fine.
The case was investigated by the Bureau of Indian Affairs - Turtle Mountain
Agency and Federal Bureau of Investigation.
Sentencing for Allery has been scheduled for September 10, 2012, in U.S. District
Court in Minot, N.D., at 11:00 a.m.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Brandi Sasse Russell is prosecuting the case.
