Law Enforcement Community Coordination
The Law Enforcement and Community Coordination (LECC) Unit for the District of Nebraska is a multifaceted unit providing law enforcement coordination, training, victim and witness services, community outreach, and coordination with the Project Safe Neighborhoods gun violence reduction program and the Midwest High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA) Project. The LECC serves as the conduit to facilitate the objectives of the Department of Justice and the United States Attorney for the District of Nebraska.
Co-located within the LECC Unit are the Victim-Witness Unit, Project Safe Neighborhoods Coordinator, and the Nebraska High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area Coordinator.
All individuals within the LECC Unit operate as a unified system. Victim/Witness Specialists assist in Weed and Seed, Project Safe Neighborhoods and drug and violent crime projects that devastate and victimize families and impact communities. Training and outreach are over-arching functions of the Unit’s program areas.
