Omaha Man Sentenced for Prostitution Ring

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
December 1, 2011

United States Attorney Deborah R. Gilg announced that Michael Wasko, 37, of Omaha, Nebraska, was sentenced on December 1, 2011 by Chief United States District Judge Joseph F. Bataillon in Omaha, Nebraska to a term of twelve months of home confinement, to be followed by a term of supervised release of two years. Mr. Wasko previously pled guilty to conspiracy to commit various prostitution offenses during 1997 to 2009.

Mr. Wasko cooperated with authorities in the prosecution of one of his co-defendants, Richard Costanzo, who was sentenced to 96 months in prison.

This case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Internal Revenue Service, the Omaha Police Department and the Council Bluffs Police Department.
