Sex Offender Sentenced For Failing to Register

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Jeffrey Brockmeier, 52, of Bellevue, Nebraska, was sentenced for his failure to register as a sex offender. The Honorable Joseph F. Bataillon, United States District Court Judge, sentenced Brockmeier to 21 months in prison. After his release from prison Brockmeier will begin a five year term of supervised release. As a part of his supervised release he will be required to spend an additional 120 days in a halfway house.

Brockmeier was convicted in Sarpy County, Nebraska of Third Degree Sexual Assault. As a result of that conviction he is required to register as a sex offender. Brockmeier moved to Iowa where he was twice convicted of failing to register as a sex offender.

Brockmeier returned to Nebraska in August 2010 after his release from an Iowa prison. He lived in Bellevue but failed to register as a sex offender residing in Nebraska.
