Lincoln Man Sentenced for Possessing Firearm

June 22, 2012

United States Attorney Deborah R. Gilg announced that Stanley Garcia, 27, of Lincoln, Nebraska, was sentenced by Senior United States District Judge Richard G. Kopf to 57 months in prison followed by 3 years of supervised release for being a felon in possession of a firearm.  Garcia arranged to sell two firearms to a police informant.  The delivery of the last gun was on July 11, 2011, in a parking lot of a north Lincoln business.  Mr. Garcia had been convicted of first degree assault in 2000 in Lancaster County District Court and served a six to fifteen year sentence for that conviction.
