Omaha Man Gets 5 Years for Distributing Crack Cocaine

June 26, 2012

United States Attorney Deborah R. Gilg announced that Frederick C. Newby, 58, of Omaha, Nebraska, was sentenced on June 25, 2012, to 5 years in prison by United States District Judge Laurie Smith Camp, for distributing more than 2 ounces of crack cocaine in North Omaha in August of 2011. Omaha police officers utilized a cooperating witness to purchase the crack cocaine from Newby who was a known crack dealer at the time. Newby was also ordered to serve a term of supervised release of 4 years after his release from prison and pay a special assessment of $100.

This case was investigated by the Omaha Police Department.
