Valley Man Sentenced For Identity Fraud

United States Attorney Deborah R. Gilg announced that Mickey Lee Tucker, 53, of Valley, Nebraska, was sentenced by United States District Judge Joseph F. Bataillon today, to serve 12 months and one day in prison, for Identity Theft and Social Security Fraud, in violation of federal law. In addition to his prison term, he will serve three years of supervised release following his release from prison.

Beginning in May 1998, Mickey Lee Tucker used, for employment purposes, the Social Security Number assigned to his brother, while receiving, under his own Social Security Number, $116,284.30 worth of disability benefits and $73,117.58 worth of state Health and Human Services welfare benefits. Restitution in the amount of $189,401.88 was also ordered.
This case was investigated by the Office of Inspector General of the Social Security Administration.
