FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
March 29, 2012

United States Attorney Deborah R. Gilg announced that Jose de Jesus Garcia-Castro, 32, of Matamoros, Tamaulipas, Mexico, was  sentenced in Omaha today by United States District Judge Joseph F. Bataillon, to serve 4 months in prison for document fraud, in violation of federal law.

Omaha Police were called to the Paycheck Advance store located at 5096 Ames Avenue in Omaha. A man was there attempting to get an advance loan on his paycheck and was seen by the clerk to have identification documents in multiple names. An ICE Agent was requested and when he arrived he asked the man for his identity and biographic information. It was determined that the man was Garcia, that he was a citizen of Mexico, that he had no permission to be in the United States, that the documents that he had in his possession bearing the name Eric Torres were false, and that he had used them to secure employment.

This case was investigated by the Omaha Police Department and Homeland Security Investigations.
