Macy Man Sentenced For Assault

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
May 18, 2012

Louis French, Jr., age 28 of Macy, Nebraska, was sentenced in United States District Court for Assault with a Dangerous Weapon.  The Honorable Joseph F. Bataillon sentenced French to 46 months imprisonment.  After his release from prison, French will begin a 3 year term of supervised release.

On July 26, 2011, French held his girlfriend against her will for ninety minutes inside a home in Macy.  During this time he attempted to choke her with a pillow case.  He threatened to kill her and dispose of her body.  When she distracted French by requesting a glass of water, she jumped through a window suffering only a small cut to her elbow, and ran next door to call the police.

French left the residence.  He was apprehended by members of the Omaha Tribal Police Department walking on a trail and in possession of a knife.
