Omaha Man Sentenced for being a Felon in Possession of a Firearm and Possession with Intent to Distribute Controlled Substances

United States Attorney Deborah R. Gilg announced that Kevin A. McDonnell, age 30 of Omaha, Nebraska, was sentenced on September 5, 2012, to 63 months in prison by  United States District Judge Joseph F. Bataillon, for being a felon in possession of a firearm and possessing with intent to distribute controlled substances. In addition to his prison term, McDonnell will serve three years of supervised release following his release from prison.

McDonnell had previously been convicted in 2003 of attempted possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver.  He was arrested by the Omaha Police Department in July 2011 following the execution of a search warrant at his apartment.  He was found in possession of a wide variety of drugs and three firearms.  A total of $2,993 in cash was also seized and forfeited.

This case was investigated by the Omaha Police Department.
