There is only street parking available in direct vicinity of the Courthouse and it is sometimes difficult to find after 8:00 a.m. All the parking lots in the area around the building are private. The time limit on these streets is two to three hours. For metered parking, the rates are 75 cents per hour Monday-Friday, 8 am to 5 pm. All locations can be paid with coins, and locations with parking kiosks have the ability for people to pay via debit/credit card. A few blocks away there is all-day parking. This is found about 1/3 mile away from the Federal Building down South Street, and up the hill on Pleasant Street about ¼ mile away from the Courthouse. Look for off-street parking which has no signs that are marked with time limits.

Parking garages are located in three places within a few blocks of the Federal Building/Courthouse. The rates in the garages are 50 cents per hour, and rates are enforced Monday-Friday, 8 am to 5 pm. People may park in the garages for up to ten hours. The Firehouse Garage has entrances on Green Street and North State Street, both of which parallel Main Street and are perpendicular to Pleasant Street. The Durgin Block Garage has entrances on Warren Street and School Street (both one-way streets). To enter from School Street, turn onto School from Main Street; and to enter from Warren Street, turn onto Warren from North State Street. The Capital Commons Garage entrance is on Storrs Street. This runs parallel with Main Street, and you must drive down the hill on Pleasant Street and turn right on Storrs Street.
