Manchester Man Pleads Guilty To Drug And Firearm Offenses
CONCORD, NEW HAMPSHIRE – Claudio Silva (“Silva”), 28, of Manchester, New Hampshire, pled guilty in United States District Court for the District of New Hampshire to charges of distribution of cocaine and cocaine base (“crack”), and the sale of a stolen firearm, announced United States Attorney John P. Kacavas.
Silva distributed cocaine to a confidential informant who was working with members of the Manchester Police Department during December of 2010 and January of 2011. Silva also distributed cocaine base (“crack”) to the same confidential informant on February 7, 2011. During three of the drug sales, Silva also sold the informant a Hi-Point pistol, a .22 caliber Ruger, and a .380 Bersa Thunder handgun, which was reported stolen one week prior to the sale.The defendant is facing a maximum prison sentence of thirty years and is scheduled to be sentenced on May 22, 2012. The case was investigated by the Manchester Police Department and is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Terry L. Ollila.
