Manchester Man Sentenced To Nine Years For Conducting Bank Robbery

CONCORD, NH – Barton Anthony Tibando, 41, of Manchester, New Hampshire, was sentenced in United States District Court for the District of New Hampshire to nine years in prison and three years of supervised release for engaging in a bank robbery on June 9, 2011 at TD Bank, located at 293 South Main Street, Manchester, New Hampshire, announced United States Attorney John P. Kacavas.  

            Tibando entered TD Bank on June 9 and provided the teller with a note demanding that she turn over a sum of money.   After the teller provided Tibando with the money, he fled the area.  Surveillance photographs from the robbery were broadcast on WMUR, Channel 9, and an anonymous source immediately contacted law enforcement and advised that Tibando committed the robbery.  Law enforcement located Tibando at the Super 8 Motel on Brown Avenue in Manchester, New Hampshire, within hours of the robbery and recovered the bank robbery demand note, a large quantity of currency and the clothing worn by Tibando during the commission of the robbery.

            The case was investigation by the Manchester, New Hampshire, Police Department and the Federal Bureau of  Investigation, and prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Terry L. Ollila.
