Three Men Plead Guilty To Shotgun Robbery Charges

CONCORD, N.H. – James C. Karahalios, Jr., 30, his brother Matthew Karahalios, 26, both of Manchester, New Hampshire, and Patrick Chasse, 21, of Hooksett, New Hampshire, have pled guilty to federal charges as a consequence of their involvement in six (6) separate armed robberies committed in the Manchester area from September 23, 2010, through November 14, 2010, announced United States Attorney John P. Kacavas.

All three defendants pled guilty in United States District Court for the District of New Hampshire to conspiring together and using a sawed-off, double-barreled shotgun during the commission of robberies at TD Bank, 70 Bay Street, Manchester, New Hampshire, on September 23, 2010, and at Rite Aid Pharmacy, 53 Hooksett Road, Manchester, New Hampshire, on November 10, 2010.  The three defendants also pled guilty to conspiring together and robbing the Spring Hill Suites, 975 North Perimeter Road, Manchester, New Hampshire, on October 6, 2010.

Pleas of guilty were also entered by: (1) Defendants James and Matthew Karahalios for conspiring together and robbing the Super 8 Motel, 2301 Brown Avenue, Manchester, New Hampshire, on October 31, 2010; (2) Defendant James C. Karahalios, Jr., and Defendant Patrick Chasse for conspiring together and attempting to rob JR’s Convenience Store, 192 Route 28 Bypass, Derry, New Hampshire, on November 1, 2010; (3) Defendant Matthew Karahalios and Defendant Patrick Chasse for conspiring together and robbing the Hess Gas Station, 805 Massabesic Street, Manchester, New Hampshire, on November 14, 2010; and (4) Defendants James and Matthew Karahalios for conspiring together to distribute, and possess with intent to distribute, OxyContin (oxycodone) and Percocet (oxycodone).

Defendant Patrick Chasse is scheduled to be sentenced on December 20, 2011.  Defendants James and Matthew Karahalios are scheduled to be sentenced on December 21, 2011.

            The investigation was conducted by members of the Manchester Police Department, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco Firearms and Explosives.
